Cultural context
Built in 1880 for Belgium's 50th independence anniversary, the park hosts a triumphal arch crowned by a bronze quadriga. Its three buildings house Autoworld (one of Europe's great car museums), the Royal Military Museum and the Art & History Museum — each free or low-cost on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month.
