Cultural context
Belgian praline was invented in Brussels in 1912 by Jean Neuhaus II at his shop in the Royal Galleries. Within decades, Brussels became a global chocolate capital. Today house styles range from classic (Neuhaus, Mary, Wittamer) to design-driven (Pierre Marcolini, Frederic Blondeel) — most welcome small tastings.
